Our research examines the resilience and challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Welcome to Project LGBTQ+ RISE UP! This multimedia study explores the resilience, strength, and coping skills of LGBTQIA+ adults in the Southeast US. In this study, participants complete online monthly diary entries that allow them to reflect on and describe their experiences during the pandemic. Each monthly diary includes a prompt that explores difficult challenges during the pandemic and new ways that the community has come together and found support.

Participants can choose to make their diary entries publicly available or keep them private (for research purposes only). Those who choose to share their entries publicly may have them posted here on the website in the Community Diary, as well as our social media. At the end of the project, we plan to share findings with the larger community —such as through a public art display or digital archive.

If you are LGBTQIA+, age 18 or older, and live in the Southeast United States, you can sign up to participate in our study here. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
